Our quirky lovely Mulligan (golf term for do over) came to us from St. Maarten three years ago. We think that he’s about 10 and are so happy that he’s living out his golden years with us!

This is our beautiful, loving, sweet Simba. He’s turning 9 this September and up until the last few months he’s never acted any age other then a viral young puppy!! Recently he has hurt his spine and with that, he has aged almost overnight.

Yet, with all that. He continues to be the happiest and most loving companion we could ever ask for!

Hope he inspires you as he does his father, Aron and I everyday!

This is Smitten, who’s loss was the reason for this project.

For day 25 I thought I’d post a drawing of my girl to mark being a quarter of the way through the wonderful #the100dayproject. I want to thank everyone who has shared their photos and words with me. The project has brought me so much joy! I thank everyone for taking part and for being patient as I work through the next 75 days. Lots of dogs to come. Lots of stories to tell. Lots of love to give.

This is my dog; my hero Ashkim, meaning my love in Turkish. He’s my guardian angel, he was there for me through thick and thin… when I am sad he curls up with me and puts his heart against my heart, so I feel his heartbeat. I chose this photo because it shows his soulful eyes, always giving me guidance.

This is Junebug. Adopted from TAS. She was a stray from Northern Quebec. I loved her from the moment I saw her on a blog. But by the time I called she was already adopted. Wasn’t meant to be and maybe just as well. I had gone back to school at night and weekends and was working full time. Then about three weeks later I saw her again. The person who was going to take her changed her kind and TAS forgot to mark her as available. This time I moved heaven and earth and she was mine. Then a little more than a month after rescuing her, she rescued me. My partner died suddenly. But being responsible for her got me up and moving through my grief. It’s been six years and she’s helped me make new friends.

Fiona rescued me from my perpetual longing for the Dane I lost 4 years prior… and now I couldn’t imagine life without her. She’s my best friend, my snuggle buddy, my baby… I may not know how old she is or what breed(s) she came from, but I couldn’t love her more than I do.

If dogs can be your soul mate – Hazel was it for me… much to the chagrin of my husband! She was smart as a whip, and sometimes used those skills to her benefit. She taught herself to open cupboards, doors, and even the garbage can lid. She knew more tricks than I can count; She was a goofball, and loved to be the centre of attention. Nothing made her happier than to make us laugh, and she was always in on the joke. But she also knew when we were sad, and would snuggle up to comfort us. She really was my best friend, and my life was better for having her in it.

We adopted a rescued stray from Kentucky and named her Churro. She loves people and chasing squirrels but most of all, she loves her 5 month old baby brother.

This is Millie, she’s a new addition to our family but it already feels like she was always here. She is the best friend I always wanted. She likes to snuggle in the car, likes getting sandy at the beach and falls asleep on my feet while I do the dishes.
